As with any new purchase it is good to know what to look for to ensure you are
buying the right product from the right company.

Use a FENSA registered company Ask to view previous installations and visit
their factory. Use a company with underwritten insurance to ensure your deposit
and guarantee is covered in case of liquidation.
Increase Your Security:
All of the following significantly increase the security of your property:
Sac/Claw bolts, Yale Door Locks, Shoot-bolt (multi-point) window locks,

Aesthetics:
Choose a company that cannot only install a product but knows how to makes
it look good too. In-line gaskets set within the window prevent a black lined
appearance between the frame and glass. And look out for frame width. 70mm
frames
not only improve the overall appearance of the installation but also
decreases loss of heat.
Thermal Performance:
Pilkington ‘K’ glass gives optimum thermal performance and trickle vents
reduce incidences of condensation.
Put Safety First:
Choose fire escape, easy-clean hinges to meet fire regulations.
And finally, Roofline – Soffits, Fascia and Guttering
Full removal roofline might be slightly more expensive but cap-over means
the new product is simply attached to the old decaying product. Warping will
occur sooner and the lifespan will just be the same as the existing product
it is attached to. Full removal removes all existing product and is guaranteed
for 10 years Bird-comb should be fitted as standard (where allowed) to prevent
under-eaves intrusion from birds and insects. Non-zinc materials should always
be used. Some plastics contain zinc and therefore can rust!
